Graze Box: week of 9/23/2013

I received my most recent Graze box a few weeks ago. Graze is a subscription service in which you receive four nutritious snacks. How often you receive your boxes is all up to you. The cost is only $5.00/box and shipping is always free. At the moment I've opted to receive my Graze box every four weeks but I think I may change that to weekly pretty soon.

Here's what came in this box...

Garden of England: dried fruit mix of mini strawberries, apples, and black currants.

Omega Booster Seeds: a mix of sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, and golden flax seeds.

Boston Baguettes: BBQ relish with tomato breadsticks.

Fruit and Seed Flapjack: very similar to a granola bar, but with a cake-like texture with rolled oats, mixed seeds, and dried fruits.

We loved everything in our Graze box this month. I can't wait to get our next one. Do you subscribe to Graze? Let me know how you like it in the comments below and what your favorite snacks are. Don't subscribe but want to? Just go to Graze's website and use the following invite code: MKG2W6RKP. When you subscribe you get your first and fifth box FREE and you can cancel at anytime.

Pinktober Nails

I just thought I'd share my pink nails since it's the beginning of October. The solid pink is Essie's "Pink About It". It's a really pretty cotton candy pink with a hint of shimmer. The accent nails were done with Sinful Colors "Full Spectrum".

Goodies Co.: September 2013

Who loves snacks?? I know we all love snacks in my household, so I really love the Goodies Co. box that we received a couple of weeks ago. Goodies Co. is a monthly subscription service in which you get 5-8 foods/snacks for $7.00/month. There are 2 versions: the Taster's Box and the Kid's Box. I decided to try the Taster's Box, but at only $7.00/month, I may opt for both pretty soon. Here is the box as it comes in the mail.

Nestle Pure Life Splash in Acai Grape ($1.11 value): This was definitely nothing new to our family. We are always trying to drink more water and love these flavored ones.

Mario Pitted Snack Olives seasoned with Sevillian Spice ($1.89 value): I'm not really an olive person, so I gave these to my mother-in-law, but I did try one and it was pretty good.

Bare Fruit Fuji Apple Chips ($1.67 value): These were extremely tasty...my 2-year-old loved them!
Kashi Hummus Crisps in Sun-Dried Tomato, Basil & Feta ($0.70 value): These are new to me (the item, not the brand), and they were delicious. I will definitely be looking for them in my local grocery store.

Zone Perfect Greek Yogurt Chocolate Bar ($1.25 value): I've had Zone Perfect bars before, but this is the first time I've had the Greek yogurt variety. It was pretty tasty.

Numi Organic Savory Tea ($0.67 value): I love tea, but a savory tea is new to me. I received the Fennel Spice flavor. I haven't tried it yet, but it sounds interesting.

Attiki Greek Honey ($1.16 value): I haven't tried this yet, but we love honey so I'm sure we will enjoy it.

So that is my September Goodies Co. Taster's Box. I came up with an approximate value of $8.45 which is a bit more than the $7.00 subscription price. If you'd like to subscribe, just click the link HERE to get started.

Birchbox: September 2013

Today is all about crocheting and blogging. For each customer crochet project I finish I am doing another blog post, which makes for a busy Saturday. So this post is on my September Birchbox. This is a monthly subscription service in which you receive a box full of beauty goodies, both deluxe samples and full size products, and it's only $10.00/month shipped. After you remove the outer box, this is what you find.

Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips ($2.90 value): This was originally created for new breastfeeding mothers but has since become a big hit as a lip balm.
S.M.A.R.T. Skin Perfecting Polisher ($7.60 value): I have not tried this yet, but apparently you just massage this into your face to exfoliate, tone, and hydrate your skin.

Ruffian Nail Lacquer ($10.00 value): This is actually a full-size product and mine is in a pretty pearly purple called "Delirium".

Serge Normant Meta Luxe Hairspray ($6.67 value): I pretty much only use hairspray if I curl my hair, and I never curl my hair unless my hubby and I are going out on date night or we have somewhere nice to go, so I have not tried this out yet.

Keratherapy Deep Conditioning Masque ($0.95 value): This hair mask is September's beauty extra.

I came up with a total value of $28.12 for this box which is over twice as much as the cost, so that's a pretty good deal. If you want to subscribe, just click this link HERE.

Conscious Box: September 2013

It's pretty late here...I should probably be in bed, but I am using this quiet time to catch up on some box reviews. The next box in my stack is Conscious Box. This is a monthly subscription service in which you receive 10-15 natural products each month. There are three different box options: classic, vegan, and gluten-free. Conscious Box also offers four different payment plans: $19.95/month, $56.85/3 months, $107.70/6 months, or $203.40/full year. Also, you can get your first box for FREE, yes I said FREE, like I did by using the code FREEBOX at checkout and all you will pay is $7.00 s/h. Let's get to the box...

Here is what will come to your door...for once one of my subscription boxes does NOT fit in my mailbox...LOL.

And here is the box once you open it up.

BOPS (Baked Organic Potato Snacks) from Good Boy Organics ($1.04 value): These looked similar to a Ruffles potato chip but were so much butter and definitely not greasy. I only had a few of them, because my 2-year-old ate the rest...he almost at the bag, too. I will have to find a store that sells these, because they were great!

Applied Nutrition Liquid Collagen Skin Revitalization ($1.20 value): I did not try this, because I am skeptical about trying anything if I am not 100% positive that it's breastfeeding friendly, so I actually passed this on to a friend.
Doctor's Best Chewable D-Ribose ($2.11 value): Again, another item that I am not sure is good for breastfeeding mommies, so I passed these on to NCPacks4Patriots to be added to a care package.

Avalon Organics Nourishing Lavender Shampoo ($1.91): This is the first organic shampoo I have ever tried and I really liked it. I got about 10 days worth of shampoo in this 2-ounce sample size which is pretty good amount when you're testing a product out. It left my hair really soft and it smells great. I was happy to see that our local Target store sells this as well as the conditioner so I don't have to order it through the mail.

Kids Natural Calm Multi ($0.83 value): I mixed this up with some apple juice and my children sampled it. They said it was very tasty. This combination of key vitamins and minerals is made up of 24 organic fruits and vegetables. I think I might have to buy a full-size of this product for my very picky 9-year-old.
Celestial Seasonings Sleepytime Kids ($0.30 value): We haven't tried this one yet, but I have had a lot of teas from this brand and love them all. I've actually been wanting to try the sleepytime tea for my kiddos to see how calming it is at bedtime.

K-PAX Energy ($12.08 value): I think these are basically vitamins, but because of reasons I stated early with breastfeeding and what-not, I passed these on to NCPacks4Patriots to be put into care packages.
Natural Energy Booster E-boost ($1.40 value): I think this is just an extra boost of Vitamins C, D and B-12 as the package says, but since I already take a vitamin that is formulated for breastfeeding moms, I decided to pass this along for a care package as well, after all, our troops need to stay healthy, too!

African Black Soap from CoastalScents.com ($0.79 value): Funny little tidbit about this item. It was label down in the box, so when I picked it up I thought, "Oh neat, a slice of fruit cake"...haha. I'm glad I turned it around to see the label before I opened it up and took a bite. At first I was not going to use this soap because it had quite an odd smell. I decided that I would try it out since it was something different. A couple of days before I used it, I noticed I was getting a lot of breakouts on my face. And no joke, just a few hours after using this soap I noticed they were beginning to get better, and once I finished the soap in a couple of days, all of my breakouts were gone. This soap worked better than any other acne treatment I have ever used. It's not just for your face, but that's what I want to use it for. The description on the website says it's also good for skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis, too. If you want to order some, just follow this link HERE.

Aquatowel ($0.50 value): This pre-moistened towelette is actually biodegradable. I tossed it in my purse, but haven't needed it yet. I'm all for this like this, though, because you never know when you will need it.

Correctiv Facial All-in-One Skincare from Skinco Labs ($3.12 value): This bar cleanser is made up of ingredients that include fresh goat milk, oatmeal, a number of essential oils, as well as bamboo fiber. In one step it cleanses, removes makeup, exfoliates, and tones. I'm actually going to try this today.

BioBag ($1.16 value): Just a little fold-top compostable sandwich bag.

I also got a few coupons in the box for various discounts on some of the products that were included...

As for the total value of this box I came up with around $26.44, which is a little over the $19.99 price of a one-month subscription. Of course, I used the code FREEBOX to get this one for only $7.00 s/h. If you would be interested in getting your box for only $7.00, just click this link HERE and put in that code that I mentioned.

Do you receive Conscious Box? If you do, let me know in the comments below which version you receive and how you like it. Thanks!

Bamshell: September 2013

I suppose that since it's October I should probably finished all of my September box reviews. The next box in my stack is from Bamshell. I believe this is a fairly new company. They are a jewelry subscription service that costs $18.99/month for 3-4 pieces of jewelry. Bamshell does not send info cards in their boxes, so I am not sure of the actual value of the items, but I was very pleased with what I received. Check out how adorable the box is right out of the envelope it comes packaged in.

And here is how everything was packaged up when I opened the box.

The fist item I pulled out of the box was this really pretty wrap bracelet, or the "slinky bracelet" as my 12-year-old referred to it.

I also received two very pretty pairs of earrings. One is an all-rhinestone pair and the others are my favorite since I love pearls.

If you would like to subscribe to Bamsell, just click this link HERE. They also have a shop where you can purchase the jewelry itself instead of subscribing to a box.

Nails Inspired by Drift Car Livery...Miro Ovcharik

A few months ago I did my nails to match my husband's drift car. If you missed them, HERE THEY ARE. After I did them I thought it would be neat to do a series of drift car-inspired nail designs. Let me tell you, it's easier said than done and the idea looked so much better in my head. Don't believe me? Just check out what I attempted...hahahaha.

From the list of Formula Drift drivers, I randomly chose the driver Miro Ovcharik. This season his LS-powered S13 is still the grey that it was before, but now it also has some pretty cool pink stars and lightning bolts as you can see below.

That shouldn't be too hard to recreate something similar, right? Wrong...I guess this is why I am a crocheter, not a nail artist. LOL. Anyhow, this is how they came out...my stars are kind of weird and the grey looks a bit lilac on camera.

I suppose they aren't terrible...practice makes perfect, right? Which means, we'll see how the next set goes. :)
